Flow-i Bridge

A physical modification to Getinge Group's Maquet Flow-i anaesthetic machine to make it more suitable for use as an emergency ventilator. The Bridge is a drop-in replacement for the OEM Socket insert, which connects the patient Cassette to the Volume Reflector inside the machine. The Bridge bypasses the Volume Reflector and shortens the gas path through the machine, thus reducing the opportunity for water rainout when using the machine as a ventilator. In (limited, to date) testing, using the Bridge in place of the Socket reduces condensation inside the machine, thus rendering it more suitable for use as an emergency Intensive Care ventilator during the COVID-19 pandemic.
