Flow Planter

A while back, I was interested in the Self-Watering planter that is very popular on Thingiverse and loved the concept but then realised that perhaps the thinking was purely from a design approach and perhaps not from a plant lover/grower.

The problem I found that was unless watering was precise, roots could end up sitting in water - some plants thrive in said conditions, the plants I grow tend to prefer well drained soil. So I decided to create a plant pot that drains the soil without the need for a plate.

My design allows water to go through the soil and allows proper drainage which, for most seeds and saplings is essential. There is a little spout at the bottom so if the plant is over-watered, excess water can be poured into an adjacent plant pot - so no water is wasted - or somewhere else, if necessary.
