A flower wind spinner for the garden DesignDesigned for 3D printing without supports.Flower prints cleanly with good surface quality.Spinner stick printed horizontally, for strength.No need for bearings. A simple point has shown to work very well, with no signs of wear after a month of use. PrintingKey settings in the supplied print profileBottom shell thickness: 1mm - to ensure good support inside the hole, and add a little extra weight at the bottomFor the sticks: 3 walls, for extra strengthFilament choiceFor the support stick, avoid printing in black or other very dark colours if it's going to be used in direct sunlight. (In the pictured prototype, one of the support sticks softened and bent in a British summer)Don't use any abrasive filaments, such as glow-in-the-dark or carbon fiber reinforced, as I expect the point bearing would wear out.I've only tested with PLA.
