This is a compact launch pad used to launch model rockets. It folds up for easy transport and storage. This launch pad uses a 1/8" guide rod (steel rod should be available for a couple of dollars in any hardware store). It should be stable enough for small rockets if placed on solid level ground. For added security (or heavier rockets), one can stake down each leg, using the included holes. The inclination of the rod is adjustable to account for wind. I used the blast shield from an old launch pad I had. Alternatively you can use the included one. But as it will be made of plastic, it will not last forever. Or just drill a small hole in a small piece of metal (like a soup can lid) and use that. Hardware required for assembly 1x 40mm M5 Bolt - Locking Pin 1x 50mm M5 Bolt - Central Pivot 2x 25mm M5 Bolt - Leg Hinges 2x M5 Nut - Insert into the cutouts in the knob and front leg hinge 3x M5 Washer 1/8 in inch (3.2mm) rod 2-3ft (60-100cm) long Assembly Print one of each piece Insert the two nuts into the recess in he knob and front leg hinge. They should be a reasonable friction fit, but you can use a drop of CA glue to ensure that they don't move. Insert the 50mm M5 bolt through the front leg hinge. Insert it from the dished out side, through the plastic, then threading it through the nut. Make sure it is nice and snug. Add the stiff leg to the assembly. The 50mm bolt should enter through the flat side. Add the rod mount. The arc shaped cut out should be up and the slot for the rod should be away from the stiff leg. (see the pictures). Add the rear leg hinge. Add a washer to the 50mm M5 bolt and screw on the knob. Screw the 40mm M5 bolt in the same direction as the 50mm bolt through the other set of holes. It will cut threads in the hole in the stiff leg. Snap in the cap to cover the opening in the rear leg hinge. Use the 25mm M5 bolts to secure the legs on the front and rear leg hinges. Go launch some rockets. The files for the pictured rocket are available here.
