A Pen Case that doubles as a Pen Stand
I came up with this double hinged swivel design with gears to make the lid close through 180 degrees.
I've added three variants of the pen stand. Two of the variants(MkV and MkVI) can hold erasers or small objects on the lid.
NOTE:- Mk5.5 doesn't work very well as pens longer than half it's height don't really fit inside.
For printing this, refer to how I've split up the gears and the case in the stl files.
For printing the case, add box support enforcers in prusa slicer for the swivel hinges on both sides.
For Mk5.5 this is enough; for MkV and MkVI, the shorter lids will also need supports.
Print the gears separately along the z axis and use a little super glue to attach them into place.
Printer - Ender 3v2
Print settings
Layer height/resolution - 0.2mm
Infill - 15% for case, 100% for gears
Supports - refer to description above
Brim recommended for gears
Material - eSUN PLA+
