These are the upgrades I'm working on for my new FT6. I have not completed assembly and do not know for sure that they work. I'm tossing them up here just in case it's helpful to someone else.
My setup is a single direct drive extruder, using the E3D Titan/V6 combination.
My goals with this are:
- Reclaim as much Z height as I can
- Have a Z stop that won't drift up/down a rod over time
- Have a light, rigid shuttle for the gantry that does not conduct electricity
The Y axis mounts raise the X axis up ~35mm higher than the stock config, to make up for how much taller the Titan/V6 combo is. When assembled this will only leave about 30mm of lead screw above the nut when the printer is assembled. I wanted to go higher still, but needed to leave room for the Z endstop.
The Z endstop is meant to mount to the bottom of one of the SHF8s (requires longer than stock M4 screws). It requires you to drill a hole in the ACM plate and use a screw for precision adjustments.
