In order to print a nice smooth sphere, this ball is printed as two halves and assembled with the connector, preferably using glue. The surface becomes nice and even without bumps from support.

According to my brief research, a ball should be roughly 34mm and weigh 24g - this one is 35mm at 100% and weight can be adjusted with the amount of infill. I printed one at 72% gyroid to match 24g in PLA.
