FRACTIONS LEARNING TOY / TOOL

Design consists of a round board representing the value 1 and shapes corresponding to different fractions (1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/8, 1/9, 1/10, 1/12). The shapes can be arranged on the board, so we can see the value of the sums of different fractions. In addition, the board indicates that 1/2 = 2/4 = 3/6 = 4/8, etc. and although this seems obvious, it is often a problem when learning fractions. Of course, the board does not show all possible outcomes, e.g. 1/5 + 1/4, but it allows you to understand the mechanism governing actions on fractions. The set of files consists of: - Board (size approx. 210mm); - Shapes corresponding to fractions 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/8, 1/9, 1/10, 1/12. Each value comes in two versions: regular and "starting" (marked with the 's' symbol), from which we should start "calculations", because it has notches that fit into the starting point on the board. The indentations ensure that the element is immobilised in the starting position.
