I wanted my light to be able to be mounted in front of the build plate so I can see what is happening at the nozzle... I have an Ender 3 V3 Plus and a light bar on the very top is not useful at all for me.I found a side mounted spool and I used OnShape to offset a plane and keep pretty much just the threaded adapter.I was putting my light strip through the hole but it kind of moves too easy and I keep hitting (working beside my printer).I designed an insert to put through the hole. The first version's wall was too thin (photo above), so I beefed up the wall (which is the 30mm file above); I also did a 50mm one and I thickened the portion that is sitting out of my adapter... I can also thread it on the side of my build plate, which gives my strip light even more reach! I will upload the new version and what it looks like once printed...I recommend using PETG since it's resistant to heat and the strip lights does put out some heat over long period of time...I have mine with a 1.2mm wall/top/bottom (3 walls), I will print the new insert with a 10% Honeycomb to help it remain sturdy.
