During my conversion, I decided that the .010" thick washers that the previous designer made were important for keeping the belt on the Y axis carriage pulleys. I made some, but the edges were rough and I felt like they caused too much friction. I wasn't happy with the way the belt would fall into the V groove either. I had enough idle pulleys and enough 5mm bolts that I decided to modify the Y axis carriage to hopefully reduce some friction. I print the Y axis carriage with only support from the build plate... it only supports the counterbores for the lower roller axles. (Note... the nuts on the side of the machine with the extruder are difficult to access. If can be done, but took way longer than I was hoping for and I may have had a few choice words come out of my mouth)
I also found that if I tightened the bolt on the crossover bracket enough to keep it from sliding toward the back of the machine, the pulleys were too tight and didn't spin nic
