The backlighting on my Yamaha FZ6n's dash has started to fail after years of temperature change.
So i made this clip on front plate to illuminate the screen.
Its made from 2 parts glued together with white plastic sheet between to provide a light guide - the numbers are glued directly to the sheet.
The trim piece it to help minimise the glare from the led's but if printed in something translucent provides a nice effect.
additional parts required would be your choice of led strip - i chose a 4mm wide rubberized 12v 6500k strip as per the link below
and your choices to wire it in (a 12v strip can be wired to the bikes main loom/ignition but there is no reason you cant use a 5v with a voltage converter or battery .... or even ARGB if you want to hide a suitable controller somewhere) and the white plastic sheet (anything translucent and non degrading should work - multiple suitable materials are available at a hobby store)
