I created this in order to fix a broken gadget holder for my car.
The ball joint should be approximately the correct size in order to fit most gadget-style receptacles.
My suggestion is to affix the bottom part to the car/boat/whatever using cyanoacrylate glue.
Otherwise, the design could be modified to accommodate holes, either for screwing or riveting.
