Gap check/shim test

Sometimes you need to measure a gap between 2 parts, but it's too narrow to fit your calipers.

This is a simple set of shims to help determine approximate gaps. There are sizes for 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, and 3mm.

I recommend printing them in 2 contrasting colors, to make the text easier to read. For example, I printed mine in white, with a thin layer of black on the top. If printing in 2 colors, print with the text side down, so the first layer is your contrasting color. Then you can change to your main color and walk away. If you try printing in 2 colors with the text facing up, then you'll have a lot more trouble finding one layer that works for every different thickness.
