Garbage bin pedal replacement

Wasn't an expensive bin, but still seemed like a waste to throw away a while bin just because the pedal broke off.
I took some pictures of the old pedal and lot's of measurements to design the alternative.
It uses 4mm threaded inserts to hold the metal plate.
