Garden Gate Lock

I needed a lock to keep open my garden gate when going in and out with my car, as there is sometimes a lot of wind, so I designed this support in Fusion360 in two parts: An spike to fix on the ground and an upper locking part. I included a drain to avoid accumulation of water in the hole.

If necessary you can adjust the upper part of the spike depending of the height of your gate versus the ground; here it is adjusted for my gate. Also the width of the spike is on purpose not too tight, if you want it to fully fit you can adjust the horizontal expansion setting in Cura to a positive value.

If you expect it to be exposed to direct sunlight I suggest to print in PETG or any other temperature resistant filament to avoid deformation.

07/03/2021 - Spike should be printed horizontally for more strength, even if the finishing will be a bit rough.. anyway it is not a visible part.
