GearBox

This is the fifth part of my Race Car project. It is the gearbox which houses the 5-speed transmission and the points of attachment for the suspension system. It is one of the major parts of the vehicle because of the gearbox has lots of separate parts which work like the spinning gears and the kinematic behaviour of dual wishbone cantilever suspension system, but they are all attached to the same part. This can then cause a lot of different types of forces which cause stress is all directions. Also, it is the main part of the Chassis of the car. By making the gearbox part of the chassis of the vehicle it overall saves weight because you are not adding extra chassis. However more importantly it increases the strength of the rear of the vehicle because having one point of support decreases the chance of structural failure compared to chassis where it would have multiple joints which are possible points of failure.Due to this, the Gearbox will have to be made of a high strength material to handle these forces such as: .
