We use one of these Genecon hand crank generators, that I think originally came from Arbor Scientific, for physics demos.
The plug somehow got lost and Arbor Scientific don't seem to sell one, so I made this replacement.
I used a plate of copper that is 0.016" thick to cut a strip about 3.6mm wide. From this I cut two strips about 29.6mm in length. I bent them into a Z shape using pliers. The long bit is 20mm, the shorter bit is 7.6 and the connecting bit between them 2mm. These are approximate, it doesn't really matter, just make them fit the groove. I cut a taper on the long end to help guide it into the crank's holes.
I then soldered wires to the short end and assembled the plug. It should go together with just the two ring clips but if you want you could add a strategic drop or two of super glue.
It is not my best design as it was done very fast. It could be improved by perhaps giving the coper tabs a little kink in the right direction to help them stay engaged better, but it ge
