Planter Pot CAD Brief for Fusion 360 1. Define Dimensions: Base Diameter: Determine the diameter of the base. This depends on your plant's root size. Height: Measure the height for your desired pot size. Consider the plant's root depth and space for growth. Top Diameter: The diameter at the top will often be larger than the base for a classic look. 2. Sketch the Profile: Open Fusion 360 and create a new Design file. Create a new Sketch on the XY plane (or any other plane depending on your pot design). Draw the profile of your planter pot. It might be a simple cylinder or have a tapered design. You can use the Line Tool and Arc Tool to sketch the curve. 3. Extrude the Shape: Once you have the profile, use the Extrude tool to give it height and make the 3D shape. Specify the height value to create the 3D object. 4.Add Thickness (Wall Thickness): To create a thick-walled planter pot, use the Shell tool. This will hollow out the interior, leaving a specified wall thickness. Choose a thickness based on material strength and weight (e.g., 1/4 inch for ceramic or terracotta). 8. Material & Appearance (Optional): Set the material for rendering purposes (e.g., ceramic, plastic, etc.) to visualize the pot’s appearance. Go to Appearance and choose a material or texture.
