Geometric Puzzle and Pattern Play

Explore colour, patterns and symmetry with this colourful assembly puzzle. There are many solutions to this puzzle, double sided puzzle pieces multiply the possibilities. What patterns will you create? All pieces are neatly contained for storage and display with the included base and lid. Reversible baseplate, with solution on one side. Only three filament changes for each puzzle piece. Using black, white and one other colour filament we can efficiently print puzzle pieces with four colours: a solid colour one face and a black, grey, white pattern on the reverse face, with just three filament swaps. Printing Frame, base and lid I went with a classic black colour scheme for the Frame and Lid and marble with gold silk outlines for the Baseplate. Use whatever combo takes your fancy. The fit between the lid and frame and baseplate might be quite snug at first - that's good, PLA tends to creep a little over time so it will get looser. Three walls for the frame and lid. Puzzle pieces I think five colours is the sweet spot. You can do 10 colours if you like for a real nice spiral gradient pattern. Or if you're crazy like me you can print every piece a different colour - then it becomes a swatch display :P But back to the five colours - that's enough colours, red, yellow, green, blue and purple, to give a good rainbow effect and having more pieces of each colour is useful for creating certain patterns. There are 40 pieces in total, for five colours print eight pieces in each colour, for 10 colours print four of each colour. The print profiles include one plate with eight pieces and another plate with four pieces.
