This gimbal mounted magnet probe is a classic for everybody working with magnetic fields. I realized the 3D design with Design Spark. The two example magnet probes were printed with orange and black PLA (1.75 mm) on my German RepRap NEO 3D printer. I used NdB permanent magnets (length = 24 mm, diameter = 4 mm). I used red and blue nail polish to reveal the probe orientation. The gimbal is mounted with 4 headless screws (length = 5 mm, diameter = 2 mm). The screws hold the gimbal rings and allow to fine-tune them for free rotation. You'll need a quite small hex key for such small screws.
