This is a mock-up of a gladius hispaniensis I made for my brother. I thought I may as well share the files in case anyone else needs a mock roman sword (Is there anyone who doesn't need a mock roman sword?)

The file is designed to be cut from a 800 x 600 sheet of 3mm plywood.

The file is slightly different from the one in the photo. After comments, I have made the hilt oval rather than square as shown in the photo. Also I have deleted the taniwha on the blade. let me know in the messages if you want me to upload files with those designs.

The sword was designed for 3mm plywood but the plywood I have available was only 2.7mm so I have added some more discs for the hilt. You might find there are too many.

I have also added 2mm tabs on the cutouts. It can be a pain if all your discs fall through the bed and you have to sort them out. I find it better to push them out when I am ready to assemble the piece.

I think the hilt looks best with the large and small discs alterna
