Globe Stand on Book

A piece I was commissioned to design and print as centerpieces for a local library association. These are designed to hold styrofoam balls roughly 3-4 inches in diameter (100mm is the maximum limit, but for proper rotation, 90mm or less is recommended), which in this case were covered in a paper mâché from surplus atlases. The ball is supported by a pair of sewing pins, though other thin needle-like things may be used.

The "IT'S A FACT" was also part of the commission, if you do not want this on the stand, you may remove it on the sketchup file provided (or change it to other phrases/ things as desired).

You need to print both the book and the arm to get the full stand. I noticed that the arm's mounting location tends to sit a little loose in the book's bracket, if a solid fit is wanted, you may need to apply your adhesive of choice.
