It is a regulating device: a device for regulating the speed of an engine by controlling the quantity of fuel according to the load variation. Can anyone help me in selecting the accurate method of defining frictional damping? I suppose there are three ways to simulate frictional damping in Creo Mechanism: 1. By defining equivalent viscous damping coefficient in damper definition. (much simpler but needs prior calculations for equivalent viscous damping coefficient) 2. By defining friction at mechanism connections and running dynamic analysis with all friction enabled. 3. By defining 3D contact giving following more options: -Full Geom. (body) with friction -Mechanism damping of materials I have used last 2 methods in the Governor model. Results were not the same (saved in “Frictional Damping” folder). All of three techniques seem different and applicable to different scenarios but I don’t know what to apply in the current model and why. Need more explanation about these 3 methods applicability.
