I wanted a lightweight hook I could take along kayaking that could easily snag a drifting boat. I also wanted something that could use to lift outdoor furniture from ground level to a second-floor deck without carrying it through the house. There are probably many other uses.
UPDATE Version 2 (19 Jul. 2017):
In the original version the tines on hook are brittle when printed in PLA. Version 2 replaces those tines with #6 screws.
The hook attachment is sized for a 1/4-20 eye bolt. One nut is counter sunk in the bottom and the other nut and a toothed washer are tightened from the top to make it solid. Printed in PLA with 25% infill is sufficiently strong for my needs, but I'm not planning on tossing it on concrete.
