The customer requested a replacement fabrication for a Great Neck 97A Push Drill cap—basic design using TinkerCAD took less than 20 minutes. I started to build it with 2D canvas mode in Fusion 360 but that's overkill for this design. The M6X15 counterbore screw is secured using CA but will hold fine with a friction fit.
Just as with the original, there is a counter set for the lip of the tool to receive the cap. I enhanced the finger grips on the side of the cap to accommodate the wearing of gloves or those with limited grip strength.
No need to overtighten as I think that's what broke the original cap. Enjoy and keep those older tools working.
