This spoon set comes with two varieties: one toting a pin safety clip and one without - to switch the orientation of the safety clip, flip it in the slicer using the mirror feature. The clip prevents an inadvertent snag from pulling the pin out when unintended, and forces the user to deliberately twist the pin before pulling it. It's sturdy enough when printed in PETG that it shouldn't break readily with normal use for at least a dozen uses. To load: Cock the hammer and secure it with the pin by the pin hole provided in the fuze. Latch the spoon onto the fuze, and press down gently above the hammer - firm enough to press down onto the pin itself. While applying pressure to the spoon, remove the pin, allow the spoon to be fully seated against the fuze, and secure the spoon by reinserting the pin through the same hole. Note: the spoon is designed to be flexed into place to secure the hammer and the holes don't exactly align - this is deliberate and is meant to naturally flex the body of the spoon a bit for better security of the pin and hammer. It's only off by a couple of mm and that tolerance difference is easily overcome by the natural flex applied when depressing it in my experiments. Straight pins help - buy replacement cotter pins from home depot if your pins are bent or too short. IMPORTANT: You will need to remove the original spoon that comes with the fuze of the Thunder B/V, but keep the hinge pin as shown in the pictures. A dremel or sturdy pair of tin snips will take the original spoon off. This is a permanent mod, but I'm not going back and I won't tell your mom if you come along. Come to think of it, it occurs to me that I could have drifted the pins out to save the old spoons, but I tried that and already bent one of the pins trying it. It's almost like they design these things not to be modified or disassembled. Bet, I call that, the original spoons suck anyway!
