Gridfinity Ruler

DescriptionPDFThis ruler is perfect for measuring stuff like drawers, pens, pliers, and more—all in Gridfinity units. It’s based on the standard 42 mm grid size and a 7 mm height unit. The bottom face (towards the plate) features markings in both centimeters and inches for quick reference and conversion.The “height side” can be used vertically (to measure the depth of a drawer or bin) or horizontally (to measure the thickness of an object).I made sure to include half-grid marks because, even though I use the standard 42 mm baseplate, I print my bins with a 21 mm base. This gives me more flexibility to place them just right and print half sizes. For example, a pen that is 140 mm long will go in a 3.5 bin rather than a 4 bin and save me 21 mm of length.For print settings, I recommend a 0.6 line width (the marker ends are 0.6 mm), 0.25 mm initial layer height, 0.2 mm layer height, 3 bottom layers, 3 top layers, and 15% infill. This results in approximately 15 grams of filament and a 1-hour print time on my shit printer. Probably a 15 min print on a Bambulab. The ruler is 294 mm but it will fit diagonally on many beds (it does on my 200*260 mm).No support, no bed adhesion except maybe for a few mouse ears if you insist. It seems smart to do a filament change for layer 13 (and back to the main color for layer 16) but a Sharpie works too.Bonus: all the markers make it a great stringing test…
