GripClip Trainer

When I was thinking about what I could make for the Celebrate Sports Design Contest I saw I could make Equipment/Gear so I made a grip trainer but I couldn't use plastic as the part that bent as it would be too weak and not sustainable so I though what is a common household item that people have that would work with the idea I had?
