Guitar Neck Strap Button

This button is for adding a neck strap for your guitar, or other stringed instrument.
It is similar to the ones sold on eBay and the one Martin sells.

Test before use! It is your responsibility.
I use, Guitar Savers Premium Strap Locks, from Amazon just to be on the safe side, but the strength and quality of the leather is more important. I get my leather from old belts at the thrift stores. The leather should be about 1/4" MAX thick when folded. Generally real leather is the strongest and longest lasting. Make sure you cannot break it easily, that it is still supple. Try to get belts that are .75" wide to minimize cutting (sharp scissors are enough). I use hole punches from Harbor Freight. Not the greatest. There are leather punches that are better at Michael's and on Amazon. Or you can sharpen the end of a steel or brass tube by grinding a 45-60 degree bevel on the outer edge.
