My math students often have trouble focusing in study hall. One of the students came to class with a fidget/hand_spinner. As someone with ADHD, I find twirling a pen or tapping my foot a much better alternative to opioids or focus enhancing drugs. I thought that having my students design their own spinner would be a great exercise in learning geometric construction through 123D Design, Autocad's basic 3D modeling software, and (hopefully) enhance focus in the classroom. Here is my take on the triangular hand_spinner with central axis rotation. I used 4 608zz 8*22*7 skateboard bearings. Picked them up for a couple of bucks on Amazon.
*update: I printed my spinner. It works well! Disclaimer, I have fairly large hands so the spinner, which is designed for me, will be slightly bigger than it would normally. But, you can simply edit the part by bringing each of the three outer bearing cut outs closer to the center and that should make a smaller spinner.
