Harvester Infected

The harvesters are a blight upon the death fields universe, spreading from planet to planet. While the clawed, insectoid horrors are the most recognizable genus of this threat, they are not the first. Before any harvesters hatch, it is the infected that must be contended with. Harvesters plant thier egg sacs in safe spaces. secluded, watery portions of a transport ship, for example. When discovered, the mature harvester will kill as many crew as it can, in in desperation implant egg sacs directly into their corpses.  While implanted, the egg sacs release Nerve bundles into the slowly decaying flesh of their host which force the corpses to jerk into unnatural animation. Often mistaken for the "zombies" of science fiction entertainment video-loops, these infected protect thier cargo of egg sacs until the harvester young within burst forth. When unleashed on the death fields battlefields, harvesters can make similar use of dead enemy teams. Sculptor: Gia Huy
