Certain FlashForge printers (mine was an Inventor) have a platform heater with two exposed bare uninsulated 24V contacts. If your metal scraper tool happens to touch the bare metal while the heater is on, ZAP! and that's the end of the transistor that controls the platform heater - it gets stuck in an always-on state, creating the danger for overheating. The remedy is to replace the main board. Expensive price tag for one short circuit.
I learned this the hard way. $215 later and having busted my LCD cable during the replacement install, I'm designing this protector and sharing it because no one else should have to go through the frustration I went through.
There are two models, one with a hole for the red LED to shine through and one without. The no-hole model is only to be printed in translucent filament, preferably clear or a color like yellow, orange, or red. (It gives a really awesome effect!) Can print without supports. Also doesn't require a heated platform if printed in P
