The packaging of the 2021 Heroquest really takes some getting used to. I quickly became frustrated enough to look for a clever inlay/organizer. Either my printer was too small or my patience was too short for the solutions I found. I somehow don't fancy print jobs that take longer than half a day.
Since I recently printed a small Gridfinity, I wanted to try to create something similar for Heroquest. It can't be that difficult.
So I quickly measured the box and all the figures/items and checked which grid would fill the box well and lose little space in the boxes.
After a few attempts, I kept coming back to a grid of 29mm x 29mm.
I tried to orientate myself on the dimensions of Gridfinity, but for better use of space I moved away from it more and more.
Now I have a grid of 10x13 squares and can stack the squares in two levels, resulting in 260 squares in the basic game.
I need about 200 spaces for all the boxes, so there's still some space left for one or two expansions.
