Hex Shelf

Redesign of this shelf to reduce print time by 36% and file size from 25MB down to 228KB by using hexagons rather than circles. I like the original shelf just fine but even my faster printer had 11 hours print time. Now it's a bit under 7 hours.

I skipped the holes in the base to improve print time, reduce the possibility of problems with the initial layer and because I use Command Strips rather than nails or screws. Besides it only take seconds to drill a hole.

** Update ** Split the print into separate pieces that can be printed flat. Cuts print time down to around 4hrs and 45 mins total or faster if you have multiple printers. Trade off is you'll need to glue the pieces together.
