A hexagonal chain mail, sometimes called a 3D printed fabric. More on the stuff-side compared to other chain mails available online, two designs are given: a basic link (most flexible) and a covered link (less flexible).

The basic links are spaced out (see attached picture) by 11.2696 mm while the covered links are spaced out (see attached picture) by 11.9969 mm. Although those values are very precise, some deviation from them (rounding to two or three decimal places) should not be an issue. Essentially, the closer to these values, the better the spacing and final functionality.

The printed examples where printed on an old Dagoma Disco Easy 200 and made with PLA. They were printed without any support which did cause some overhang, however the parts are small enough that the overhang corrects itself relatively quickly. Also noting that the imperfection will be on the inside of the part and not very visible at the end.
