This is my second prototype 3D printed plane. The first was far too heavy, so I won't be sharing that. This one has not been fully built yet, but is already stacking up to be half the weight with a larger wingspan.
Print all pieces except the Electronics flat. None of them should require supports. The electronics bay should be printed in the shown orientation. It is not perfectly straight up and down by design.
The build method is to assemble the skeleton, use tape hinges for the ailerons, and cut foam board for the rudder and elevator. Servos will be added. The skin will then be a lightweight tissue paper, doped with hairspray.
The electronics bay is removable, held in place by two BBQ skewers. These skewers also provide a place where a wire front landing gear can be added and secured with rubber bands.
The wing is similarly held in place via rubber bands, through holes in the fuselage. The wing halves can be joined using BBQ skewers as well. If this is a permanen
