#### Hinged Triangle to Rectangle Models


This hinged model demonstrates that a triangle can be folded onto itself for a rectangle. It shows that (1) the sum of the three angles of a triangle is a straight line and (2) the area of a triangle is [(1/2) ✕ b ✕ (1/2) ✕ h ] ✕ 2 or (1/2) ✕ b✕ h, where b is the base of the triangle and h the corresponding altitude.
