HoledVase1

This vase is made from a Loft surface derived from a vertical set of twisted ellipses. When I saw the Loft I wanted to do something to make it more interesting, so I put a tunnel through the center. This was easy to do (I just used a horizontal cylinder and a Solid Difference function), but the tricky part was how to provide a support for the bottom of the tunnel. You'll have to run this STL through a slicer program to see the trick.

This part printed in 6.5 hours using a print speed of 90 mm/sec and a layer height of 0.200 mm.
