HoloLens 1 Head Strap Replacement

This is a replacement head strap for HoloLens 1. You can watch the video from SphereGen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0X55b7qsPg) how to disassemble the HoloLens head strap.

This version uses a different approach to fix the new strap on the HoloLens. Instead of connecting it to the end of the old strap, the old strap gets completely removed. So with that version you can still use the full range of the strap.

You need to peel of the foam from the part where the strap ends a little and remove some plastic parts with a proper tool (a wire cutter worked quite well for me) so that the new end of the strap fits into (you will see a structure where the end of the new strap fits in very smoothly). As next step click back the foam into the hard part of the strap and use a cable tie or shrinking tubing to fix the new strap against loosing or slipping out the hard part of the strap.
