HONDA ROCKET

This is a model of the new HONDA rocket. At 1:21 scale (80mm) the rocket is approximately 16 inches tall. This model features retractable landing legs, a single gimble motor nozzle and extendable grid fins.

The lower section has ‘print-in-place’ upper landing legs. The landing leg brackets and sliders and the motor nozzle are also ‘print-in-place’. Depending on your printer, various supports may be needed as well as minor sanding and fitting – especially the lugs of the landing leg brackets where they snap into the lower hull section. I added putty and sanded smooth the landing legs’ two parts. Note: Print-in-place pieces should be printed with 'base plate only' supports so that the joints do not get filled.

I purchased a figure that you can find on maker sites and scaled the Honda tech to show the size of the rocket. Given the success of this attempt from Honda, and as a marketing exec, I have included a decal sheet PDF to dress it up.
