This spool holder is designed to optimize 3D printing with flexible filaments like TPU and FPLA, as well as heavy spools, by minimizing filament tension for the best possible print results. Traditional holders often position spools vertically with bearings, causing resistance that increases with spool weight (e.g., 1kg, 3kg, 5kg+), leading to inconsistent tension and print compression defects—especially with flexible materials like TPU and FPLA.I’ve redesigned it to lay the filament horizontally, reducing pulling force regardless of spool weight or remaining filament amount. Key improvements include:Optimized for printing flexible filaments (TPU, FPLA, etc.) without AMS, ensuring smooth filament feeding. While TPU printed well with this design, I noticed print defects (e.g., inconsistent extrusion) occurring with FPLA due to similar tension issues, which this holder addresses.Supports heavy spools (1kg, 3kg, 5kg, or more) without resistance, eliminating tension-related print problems.U
