Opened the image in GIMP, levels + color to alpha to get rid of the background. Filled in a couple of lines. Exported paths to SVG (and cleaned them up a little in Inkscape).
Loaded the SVGs into OpenSCAD, a bit of cropping & scaling to make sure things line up, then a Minkowski sum for that sweet sausagey rounding effect.
