House Plans

I'm a 3d printer newbie. My family is building a new house, and I want to surprise my wife with a 3d printed model. I am having trouble modeling it, and would appreciate any guidance. I'm unsure if it needs to be printed in multiple pieces... or what support is needed... or how to make sure this even looks good. Please help! I tried to do stuff in SketchUp but am not very technologically savvy. It would be awesome if I could print in multiple parts so you could see the inside, but I'd be happy with just the outside.
