We regularly give demos with our HTC Vive, and found that people who are not used to VR tend to reach past the chaperone on a regular basis. This would result in people smashing the controllers into the wall.
We started by using the Vive controller protectors created by [Kf52t](https://www.thingiverse.com/Kf52t/about), but found that they typically broke near the center. Usually destroying the entire print. We were swapping them constantly.
I ended up rebuilding the entire model from the ground up in Fusion 360, with similar dimensions. The bumpers have constant thickness now and don't fail completely when hit. We've found that they still break, but hold shape for longer than the originals. Because of this, we're not having to replace them as often.
The top and bottom should also slot in with each other, keeping the top and bottom from rotating independently. A small bolt and wing-nut are all that need to be provided to complete it.
