I wanted a cable comb that requires minimal print time. My cable comb uses a gallery rail system made of aluminium and quick & easy printable PLA parts. As a bonus, it is also customizable because the length of the gallery rail and the amount of teeths and spacers is variable.
You will need:
- metal gallery rail i.e. https://www.boesner.com/shopfunktionen/studio-bilderschiene?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrazCvbP-5wIVzZ13Ch2jVQKzEAQYBSABEgLWafD_BwE#32209?RefID=PLA_200_44263_pla&id=44263
- 2 3d printed endcaps
- equal amount of comb teeths and spacers (enough to fill the gallery rail)
Assembly:
The comb teeths and spacers (Picture 2) are inserted into the opening of the rail, that normally faces the wall, in alternating order.(Picture 4: One pair of spacer and tooth is white to illustrate how it is done) Leave some space for the endcaps at each side. Once the rail is completely filled and the end caps inserted, the finished cable comb can be scewed against a wall. (Picture 3)
