Hyperboloid Fruit Bowl

This was an idea i had for a present for my mother. i wanted to make a curved fruit bowl out of only straight lines.

This was INCREDIBLY difficult to print. it took me about 15 hours of failed prints before i got one that worked. i scaled it up to take up the entire build plate of an Ender 3 pro.

It needs supports near the bottom until the lines can connect together in the central section. it needs a brim. it needs glue on the build plate. i tried to do only some ot these things and it would not work. you need to do all three.

after i got it printed i noticed that if you put actual fruit in the bowl that the arms would bend a bit. it made me nervous, so i printed a ring that slips on the top and provides support. if you don't have this scaled up to take up the entire build plate of an ender 3 then it would probably be strong enough to hold small things without the ring.
