"I know a guy" Token

Token to hand out to your players for DND or any other RPG for the "I Know a Guy"-house rule.

"I Know a Guy"
You know the situation where your players just found a critical piece of information, but didn't roll high enough to decipher the hints? Or they want to break in to a building but still need the blueprints? Maybe they're just looking for a fence, a tutor or somebody to hang out with in a pub. The problem is, you, the DM, haven't prepared this NPC, and the character's background also doesn't give any help. In that case a PC can call out: "I Know a Guy!", hand in their token, describe their NPC and roll a relevant check to determine (the warmth of) their relationship with the NPC.
