I was having some issues with tension on my spool and extruder while printing with the spool on rollers at or below the extruder height. I decided to make an inexpensive spool holder that sat above the extruder but didn't put all of the weight on the printer or modify the printer frame. This was my solution. Copper pipe is affordable and easily obtainable, this could also likely be done with PVC if you keep the O.D. of the pipe below 24mm, otherwise these models would require modification. I used my makerfarm i3 8" to design the pipe fitting, this model may need to be changed for 6" models. Distance between centers of these screws needs to be ~35.42mm to fit w/o modification.
_Parts required_
* 1x 5' Hard Copper Pipe 3/4" I.D. used here, though a slightly smaller or larger size should work. You can most likely get 5' sections at your local hardware store, I got mine from homedepot. You'll need to cut this pipe into 3 sections of varying lengths depending on how you plan to
