icom ext kaypad

The Icom 7610 and 7300 both have an external keypad facility. The touch screen keypad can be used to send preset audio,cw rtty and psk messages, this can be particularly useful for times where you wish to have a quick contact in a contest or repetitive calls whilst trying to work a popular station along with everybody else.
The external keypad brings this keypad to a convenient position next to you .
The included circuit diagram from the Icom 7610 basic manual can be reproduced in veroboard (or make your own pcb) and fitted inside the printed case.
The dimensions of the case allow it to sit under the front of the 7610.
Make your veroboard or pcb narrow enough to fit within the case,( it needs to sit as flush as possible with the front and allow a bit of movement when assembling) you will require eight momentary on switches and a one pole toggle switch to allow for the mute function.

Construct the circuit board first and test that this works with your radio, then disconnect
