This is a roller for the IKEA VIDGA curtain rail system. It moves away from the standard glider design in favour of a Live Axle setup to ensure the wheels stay perfectly parallel and quiet. I am uploading this as a Work in Progress. In testing it rolls fast, smoothly and is quieter than standard gliders. Once you hang real curtains on it it is only marginally quieter than the gliders, and definitely moves slower. This is likely due to the rollers rubbing against the wall. I’m hoping the community can improve the design to be quiet and fast! Here is the onshape design. The Design Live Axle: The wheels are press-fitted to a 3mm x 10mm steel axle, eg https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0F54DL42W . Having fixed wheels keeps a constant wheel spacing, and is much easier with 3d printing tolerances and seams than a fixed axle. Hanger Bearing: The axle rotates inside a PETG hanger. This eliminates the "Z-seam thump" often found when wheels rotate on a fixed shaft. Tires: Designed for TPU tires printe
